Experience a day of live glassmaking demonstrations celebrating traditional skills that are becoming increasingly rare.

As part of our Endangered Crafts exhibition, presented in collaboration with the Contemporary Glass Society, visitors can meet talented glass artists and watch a range of heritage techniques brought to life throughout the day.

Demonstrations include:
• Traditional glass cutting with Allister Malcolm
• Fire polishing in the hot glass studio
• Neon tube bending with Nick Malyon and Peter Hoare
• Stained glass making with Cate Watkinson
• Venetian-style glass bead making with Holly Parr
• Bespoke sheet glass demonstrations with Elliot Walker at Blowfish Glass Studio*

A full programme of demonstrations will take place throughout the day, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the skill, craftsmanship and stories behind these remarkable glassmaking traditions.

Museum Opening times: 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Admission: Adults: £10.00 

?️ Admission to the museum is on arrival – no advance booking is required.

Elliot Walker's demonstrations at Blowfish Glass Studio (opposite the museum) are part of the Endangered Crafts programme but require advance booking via Blowfish Glass Studio.
